Vroon Offshore Services Aberdeen has been awarded a long-term contract with BP. Under the multi-million pound contract, Vroon Offshore will provide emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRVs) to support BP’s on-going and future operations in the North Sea and West of Shetland. ENDRESS+HAUSER says its iTherm StrongSens sensor cuts replacement costs and improves safety. The company says processes with high vibrations caused by pumps, compressors and turbines, for example, can often lead to premature failure of temperature sensors and increased operational costs as sensors need to be replaced more frequently and more worryingly, unreliable temperature monitoring on rotating parts (such as bearings) can lead to a safety risk through overheating of equipment.
