Complete asset management services package

Published:  15 June, 2022

A new collaboration between global oilfield specialist Oil Plus and award-winning independent SAP specialist AG Consultancy & Apps (AG) has secured its first contract win.

The two companies’ new joint offering – a complete asset management services package - will support a leading global chemical manufacturer to ensure safe and ongoing operations at its plant in the north-east of England.

This fast-track approach combines the skills of Oil Plus’ engineering and maintenance team and AG’s SAP enterprise asset management (EAM) expertise to assist organisations with effective and efficient maintenance and management of onshore and offshore assets. The vast experience and long-standing relationship between Oil Plus and AG has identified that the traditional approach of engaging and trying to align independent specialists can often lead to inefficiencies and delays and can be difficult to manage. With deep collaboration from the outset, the partnership recognises significant potential that its ‘one-stop-shop’ approach can drive significant tangible benefits in sectors including oil and gas, renewables, chemical production and other asset intensive industries.

To support its chemical producer client, Oil Plus’s engineering and maintenance team will mobilise from Aberdeen to carry out the necessary quantifying and qualifying work on site to define the scope of work. Together, Oil Plus and AG personnel will conduct a review of the current data, documentation, and CMMS (SAP), and benchmark their findings against industry standard best practice (ISO 55000) before providing recommendations.

Oil Plus maintenance engineering team lead Mike Noble (pictured), said: “Plant-intensive organisations understand the importance of robust scheduled and preventative asset maintenance planning to mitigate safety risks and avoid costly downtime caused by issues such as unexpected equipment failures. By joining forces with the highly skilled AG team, we are streamlining and reducing the timeframe for coordinating both the physical engineering and maintenance scope, whilst simultaneously collaborating with AG to ensure alignment of the SAP Plant Maintenance set-up and synchronising around data remediation works - which can be highly complex.

“By alleviating these pressure points with our optimised approach, clients will benefit from consistent and complete preventative maintenance, thus reducing backlog, increasing equipment reliability, and minimising unplanned downtime.

“We are extremely proud to be working closely with AG and to be awarded our first contract for our new service collaboration with our chemical producer client.”

AG is an award-winning SAP Gold Partner and one of the world’s most experienced SAP EAM specialist businesses. The firm’s EAM sales manager Nathan Gee added: “By truly collaborating from the outset and combining two leaders in their respective fields we tangibly differentiate and add value which can be clearly measured - from the outset our clients see reduced project costs, and throughout service delivery phase with a unified team working together efficiently and harmoniously, we are able to reliably deliver high quality results on time and budget with minimum project risks.”
