UK subsea companies to showcase expertise at leading renewables event

Published:  06 November, 2019

Subsea UK has partnered with government and renewable industry organisations to give UK companies the opportunity to engage with the offshore wind industry’s biggest developers at the UK Group Pavilion at WindEurope Offshore 2019.

The Department for International Trade (DIT), RenewableUK, Scottish Development International (SDI), Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG), East of England Energy Group (EEEGR), Energy Industries Council (EIC), NOF and Team Humber have joined forces with Subsea UK to offer companies a place on the UK supply chain pavilion and knowledge hub. The 300m2 central UK expertise hub will feature more than 40 renewable-focused supply chain businesses.

This year, WindEurope Offshore 2019 will be held in Denmark, the headquarters of wind industry giants like Ørsted and MHI Vestas Offshore Wind. The country currently produces around 44% of its domestic energy consumption from offshore wind sources.

There is also the opportunity for companies to potentially benefit from a Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP) grant through the DIT. The funding offers UK-based SMEs £1,500 towards conference expenses, including fees, promotional materials and stand costs. Participants will also gain access to a shared networking lounge and B2B support and mentoring from organisers.

Neil Gordon, chief executive at Subsea UK, said: “The European offshore wind market is growing, with the total new wind energy capacity topping 4.9GW in the first half of this year. The UK’s £7.5billion subsea sector has a wealth of knowledge and experience in underwater operations and therefore is uniquely placed to support this expansion.

“WindEurope Offshore is one of the flagship renewable events and presents a great opportunity for our members to engage with some of the renewable sector’s biggest developers to help shape the discussion on a global scale.”

The WindEurope Offshore 2019 conference will take place from 26-28 November 2019 at the BELLA CENTER in Copenhagen, Denmark. For more information and to book a place on the pavilion visit: https://www.subseauk.com/1479/subsea-uk-events.
