Range of interior decorative LED luminaires certified for use in Zone 1 hazardous areas

Published:  01 November, 2019

LED lighting specialist Glamox has launched a new range of explosion-proof interior decorative LED luminaires. The new AX60 luminaire is certified for use in Zone 1 hazardous areas and completes the Glamox AL60 family of decorative LED luminaires.

With a rated lifetime of 100,000 hours at Ta 45°C, the AX60 from Glamox is setting new standards in reduced installation and operational costs. The robust, functional and slim design of the AX60 simplifies installation and reduces operational and maintenance costs. The AX60 offers light quality built on generations of experience in the field of light installations and systems for marine and offshore oil and gas applications.

The AX60 is designed according to maritime classification societies and IEC standards. With a similar design to the rest of the AL60 family, the AX60 is a surface-mounted LED luminaire that is easy to install and, unlike recessed fittings in a B15 fire ceiling, does not require an additional fire hat. Suspension screws are included for easy surface mounting.

Micro-prismatic polycarbonate optics provide superior light comfort with low glare. The AX60 is also available as an emergency, battery-operated version (1.5 hours or 3 hours). Two different lumen packs are available.

Perfect solution for indoor offshore applications

Together with the rest of the AL family, the AX60 is surface-mounted in order to reduce the time spent on installations. Due to its robust design (including a die cast aluminium housing) that has been thoroughly tested, the luminaire has a high tolerance for vibration and shock.

Cable entry is 2 x M20 or 2xM25 in brass for through-wiring. 3 x M20 or 3 x M25 gland are available on request. Push-in terminal block is 4mm² with a 6mm² screw terminal block available on request. The AX60 is available in two colours: grey or white.
