High pressure offshore water jetting units

Hughes Pumps compact ultra high pressure offshore water jetting units are being used by Danish maintenance contractor High Jet Technologies, on rigs throughout the North Sea.

The Ultrabar 10EC, UHP Zone 2 Offshore Unit is said to be one of the most compact on the market, designed for spot blasting, beam and general surface preparation. A gun reaction force of less than 7kg can make this machine ideal for areas where access, such as behind pipe work, is difficult.

The ATEX compliant Ultrabar 10EC unit develops 8.6 lpm at 2100 bar, is Zone 1 or 2 EEx nA T3 electric motor driven, suitable for use from a 63-amp socket, and comes mounted in a compact EN12079/DNV 2.7-1 offshore crash frame.

Its enhanced flow rate means it is capable of high performance surface preparation, cleaning and cutting on single and twin gun applications. The company says it is also simple to operate and maintain.
