Easy and affordable remote well-monitoring solution

Published:  10 May, 2023

Hiber has announced it is scaling up its HiberHilo satellite-powered remote well-monitoring solution worldwide as it strengthens its partner network to help oil and gas companies improve the safety and sustainability of their operations during the energy transition.

Hiber developed HiberHilo in a joint venture with WTS Energy in 2020. The companies have since worked together on the installation, servicing, and maintenance of the technology as it has rolled out to serve five of the world’s super-major oil and gas companies, including Shell.

HiberHilo is now available in the US, Gabon, Nigeria, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, Romania, Trinidad & Tobago, and Brazil – all important regions for oil and gas monitoring.

In addition, Hiber is now also working with agents and partners in 12 additional locations including Malaysia, UAE, Australia, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, India, Egypt, Oman, Angola, and for projects in the North Sea, making its HiberHilo solution available in over 19 key oil- and gas-producing countries.

Thierry Zois, Chief Commercial Officer at Hiber, commented: “These are exciting times for Hiber as we set our sights on new opportunities across the globe. Our new partner and agent agreements allow us to significantly extend our reach to cover the major oil-producing regions and bring the benefits of our remote monitoring solution using reliable satellite data to more producers and more territories.”

HiberHilo is a comprehensive IoT-as-a-service solution for the oil and gas industry. It gathers data from sensors on wells and relays this to a secure online dashboard via a global satellite network for IoT.

The company says HiberHilo makes it easy to bring new technologies to oil and gas production. It delivers an all-in-one remote monitoring and management solution—hardware, software, and satellite connectivity—that is easy to install and use. HiberHilo also includes digital pressure sensors and remote temperature monitoring devices that provide regular, reliable pressure and temperature data from any well, anywhere.

The technology has a wide range of applications and use cases for remote locations worldwide. These include production optimisation and downtime reduction for artificially lifted wells and naturally flowing wells; injection optimisation and downtime reduction for injector wells; as well as well integrity monitoring for producing, non-producing and gas storage wells.

HiberHilo can also be deployed for pigging planning and integrity monitoring for gathering or transmission pipelines.
