Meters approved for use in hazardous areas

Published:  13 August, 2015

bell_flow_systems.jpgSpecifying the correct flow meter for any application is important but it becomes critical in hazardous areas. Badger Meter has developed a range of intrinsically safe electromagnetic flow meters, sizes 6-600mm with ATEX, CSA and FM approvals.

The M3000 and M4000 reportedly have an accuracy of ±0.25% with a flow range of 0.03 to 12 m/s. Designed for hazardous applications, these full bore meters are said to be virtually unaffected by density, temperature, pressure, and viscosity changes.

The rugged design allows flow measurements in Ex-zones 1 (M4000) and 2 (M3000), in either the compact or remote version. The amplifier housing is powder-coated aluminium with IP67 protection. The display shows actual flow, totalizer and status messages. Pulse, 4-20mA and Alarm outputs included. Bell Flow Systems is the UK representative of Badger Meter.

Bell Flow Systems will be exhibiting at SPE Offshore Europe Stand: 1A120.
