Aberdeen Breakfast: Energy Transition

Published:  28 November, 2019

The next OGUK Aberdeen Breakfast Briefing is on 3rd December and will focus on: Energy Transition - industry transformation

“The choices we make now will shape our country’s energy future for years to come”.

The industry is renowned for the people, skills and technologies it has deployed to develop the North Sea; working closely with government it is apparent that the same innovation and expertise will be essential to achieve the low carbon economy in the decades to come.

Hear from leading players on the UK Continental Shelf how the oil and gas industry is being re-invented as it helps to deliver the energy transition. The breakfast will also see OGUK launch our report “Energy Transition Outlook 2019” showing what progress has been achieved over the last year and looking forward to what is now required to move towards the government’s objective.

Chaired by Deirdre Michie, chief executive, OGUK speakers are:

• Will Webster, energy policy manager, OGUK

• Ariel Flores, regional president, BP North Sea

• Steve Phimister, VP UK Upstream, Shell U.K. Limited

• Troy Stewart, head of energy industries UK and Ireland, ABB

Speakers will be joined by Myrtle Dawes, solution centre director at The Oil & Gas Technology Centre for an interactive panel discussion where you can put your questions to our expert panel.
