A new standard in the wind industry

Published:  08 October, 2018

The global wind industry saw a new standard introduced on 31st March 2018 by members of the GWO. The change means that technicians working on their wind turbines are required to have a valid GWO BTT certificate. BTT courses for this certificate can be gained through certified GWO training providers, such as from bolt tensioning equipment supplier HTL Group.

The course provided by HTL Group was developed to meet the demand for basic technical training within the wind industry. The GWO BTT covers 3 modules focusing on hydraulic, mechanical and electrical technical elements. The course is designed for all technicians who are involved in the installation, service, and maintenance of wind turbine generators and wind power plants; the BTT focuses on delegates who have no previous mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical experience and also those who wish to upskill and have some knowledge of these areas.
